A local 501c3 non-profit organization working to restore the Historical Theatre. The Friends of the Embassy Theatre was established in 1991 when Harold's daughters, the former owner, were unable to dispose of the theatre. The Friends of the Embassy were able to successfully purchase the theatre, with the intent of rescuing, restoring, and operating the theatre as a community center. The Embassy was saved from the wrecking ball that surely would have destined it to become just another parking lot in Lewistown. The Friends have completed several restoration projects including: restoration of the historic marquee, restoration of the front facade of the building, and restoration of the historic box office. More projects are currently underway at this time.
